Fiber management systems

19" fiber panels

Fiberframe patch and slice panel

The fiberframe is a 19″ patch and splice panel made from aluminium which allows the user to splice or patch various cables and cable systems in a standard 1U height 19″ frame. It can accommodate up to 24 adapters such as LC, LX.5, SC and E-2000™. In addition, maximum flexibility is ensured thanks to exchangeable front plates for a wide range of supplementary adapter types. The panel has a density of up to 48 fibers using LC/LX.5/ E-2000™ connectivity and allows the user to bring various different cables and cable systems into the back of the panel, fixed with easy exchangeable back plates. A telescopic drawer ensures the access to the back of the connectors as well as to the splice cassettes and offers a storage area for loose tubes which is separated from the splicing and patching area inside the housing. For splice applications, the well-known ACS splice cassette accommodates up to 24 fibers per cassette using either heat shrink or sandwich splice protectors. The cassette allows the user to store fiber overlength neatly and securely within the cassette and the hinge mechanism ensures access to any cassette without tools. Each housing is delivered with a mounting kit (M5), designation strip, Velcro straps and cable ties.

Fiberframe lite patch and skjøtepanel

The fiberframe lite is a 19″ patch and slice panel made from solid steel which allows the user to splice or patch various cables and cable systems in a standard 1U height 19″ frame. It can accommodate up to 24 adapters such as SC simplex, LC/LX.5 duplex. With the latter, a density of up to 48 fibers per 1U can be achieved. The multifunctional back plate allows the user to bring different cables and cable systems into the back of the panel without having to exchange various back plates. A telescopic drawer ensures the access to the back of the connectors and to the splice cassettes. For splice applications, the well-known ACS splice cassette accommodates up to 24 fibers per cassette using either heat shrink or sandwich splice protectors. The cassette allows the user to store fiber overlength neatly and securely within the cassette and the hinge mechanism ensures the access to any cassette without tools.

LISA - Centralised cross-connect

LISA (Leading Interconnect System Approach) is a high density dedicated fiber management system that is often used as a centralized cross-connection in the Main Distribution Area (MDA) to large data centers. With a depth of 300 mm and full access from the front, LISA stands can be placed against unused walls at the end of cold aisles or back to back on a single floor tile. LISA racks have a maximum density of 3600 LCD ports per rack (100 cassettes with 36 ports each) or 7200 LCD ports per floor chip when placed back to back.

LISA chassis

LISA chassis enables high-density applications and supports joint, patch, transition, splitter or WDM cartridges within the centralized cross-connection rack. Incoming spinal cables are connected on the incoming side, while patch wires connect the ports on the opposite side of the LISA chassis.

LISA cassettes

LISA cartridges are side-facing connection blocks that are inserted into the LISA chassis in 300 mm high density racks. Designed for installation speed and improved accessibility, LISA cartridges can be installed and removed in less than 10 seconds. LISA cartridges cover a wide range of applications, including splice, transition, cleavage, WDM and patch.

LISA solutions

The LISA solution is a flexible and modular fiber management system. By cleverly combining the available building blocks, this concept supports a variety of applications. The continuous development of the LISA system makes it possible to meet the customer’s needs in an optimal way.

IANOS - High-density connectivity system

The IANOS system from HUBER + SUHNER is a state-of-the-art fiber optic control system that enables fast, flexible and future-proof connectivity in the data center. As the name suggests, “IANOS” (inspired by the Roman god Janus) looks at both the past and the future. This means that “IANOS” is a combination of past experience and valuable insight into the future.

IANOS Chassis

The IANOS chassis accommodates 72 LC or MTP® ports in a single 1 U rack and 288 ports in a 4 U slot. Alternatively, select the IANOS Lite version that can accommodate 48 LC or MTP® ports in a single 1 U slot. This extreme packing density reduces the total cost of ownership and allows valuable rack space to be used with revenue-generating active equipment.

IANOS Modules

IANOS modules are interchangeable connection blocks that can be inserted into any IANOS chassis. A wide range of different modules is available to cover many different applications such as lapping, splitting, transitioning and conversion.

IANOS Accessories

IANOS is a sophisticated, high-density system that creates value in many applications. Accessories help you meet specific customer needs and extend the IANOS standard offer. Various accessories include cable managers, blind modules and labels to maximize the value of an installation.

LISA - Front access fiber management system

The LISA front access system is focused on installation speed and network security during installation or maintenance. The LISA front access system represents a modular group of products that enable seamless connection of passive optical networks, especially in central office environments. Reliability and performance are key to the success of our industry, which is why we have ensured that the highest level of fiber protection and bend radius limitation is standard across all front access systems solutions. The center piece of the front access system is a unique and versatile compact module that can be used for pigtail, direct cable splitting or for integrating pre-connecting passive components such as splits.

BTU – Break-out termination unit

The LISA BTU enclosure is an appropriate sub-unit for cable, manifold or breakout cables such as SMARTLINE or MASTERLINE cables. Pre-finished and thus factory-tested cable systems allow high fiber counts between the equipment and the passive infrastructure that can be installed on site in minutes. Outbreak cables such as SMARTLINE cables can be safely placed in BTUs.

CTS – costumer termination shelf

CTS junction box is the ideal product for connecting micro duct systems or loose pipe cable installations. With the modular LISA ACS cassette system, the choices between SingleCircuit, MultiCircuit, splitter or combined applications are easy to realize. Designed as a clean joint, the CTS provides the ability to connect inflated fibers with cable pigtails in a simple manner. A further advantage of the CTS is the hinge system which faces up to the front and provides optimal access to all installed cassettes.

MCM compact modul

MCM splitter modul

HUBER + SUHNER offers a wide range of high quality splitters with pre-cut fiber ends integrated into modules. Such modules are used either to monitor applications or in PON networks with a low split ratio of a maximum of 2:16 per module.

Optical Distribution Frames

HUBER+SUHNER offers a wide range of Optical Distribution Frames (ODF) to meet its customers’ requirements. The comprehensive range of Cable Distribution Racks (CDR) is designed to fulfil the diverse needs of the typical data center operator. The modern cabinet range is based on anodised aluminium profiles (C-frame) with tool-free, quick-release doors and side panels.

CDR – Cable Distribution rack

The CDR (Cable Distribution Rack) is a purpose-built high-density fiber management rack which serves as a central cross-connect in the main distribution area of data centers. With a footprint depth of only 300 mm, the CDR is fully modular and scalable up to 1620 ports (3240 fibers) using LC connectivity and 1080 ports (25920 fibers) using MTP connectivity. Users benefit from a C-shaped construction that allows all internal sub-elements to be installed and accessed from the front side. This important feature means that CDRs can be placed back to back on a single floor tile or, alternatively, against an unused wall for minimal space consumption.

The CDR is the most flexible and scalable fiber management system on the market. Different fiber performances, connectivity types and applications can be mixed and matched in the same cabinet, which enables the overall solution to evolve at the same pace as the data center.

The CDR rack adapts to any environment and can be configured to meet any requirements. Its large range of accessories facilitates fiber management and improves cabling.
